Prez Murmu, PM Modi condoles Vasudevan Nair's death
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modion Thursday condoled the demise of renowned Malayalam writer M T Vasudevan Nair.
In a post on X, Murmu said, "With the demise of Shri M T Vasudevan Nair, renowned Malayalam writer, the world of literature has become poorer. Rural India came alive in his writings."
Expressing sadness, Modi said Nair was one of the most respected figures in Malayalam cinema and literature.
"He also gave voice to the silent and marginalised. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti," Modi said.
Popularly known as MT, Nair died at a hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala on Wednesday evening. He was 91.
