Four hour curfew relaxation announced in Leh
LEH [Maha Media]: As bodies of all the four victims of September 24 violence in Leh were cremated, authorities on Tuesday announced relaxation in curfew in Leh district of Ladakh Union Territory for four hours from 10 am to 2 pm.
The administration has ordered opening of all groceries, essential services, hardware and vegetable shops during the relaxation period in Leh.
However, schools and other educational institutions shall remain closed.
The mobile internet service, which was suspended immediately after September 24 violence, remains suspended in the district.
A police official said security men, who are deployed in strength in sensitive areas, are maintaining tight vigil.
“The situation is under control and no untoward incident has been reported after September 24 violence,” he said.
