'One Battle After Another' dominates Oscars
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The 98th edition of the Academy Awards celebrated a wide spectrum of cinematic achievements, with 'One Battle After Another' emerging as the most successful film of the evening, while Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley secured Academy Awards for Best Actor and Actress, respectively.
Anderson's three-hour-long epic 'One Battle After Another' picked up the Oscar for Best Picture, along with Oscars for Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Sean Penn), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Casting. With six Oscars to its name, it's the most awarded film of the night.
Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' also won big at the Oscars ceremony, picking up four awards: Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Cinematography. With its 16 nominations, it holds the record of the most-nominated film of all time.
Jessie Buckley made history as the first Irish performer to claim Best Actress for her role in 'Hamnet'. The Best Supporting award was presented to Amy Madigan for her role in 'Weapons', according to Oscars' official website.
In the craft categories, 'Frankenstein' secured multiple honours, including Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design. The Best Visual Effects award went to 'Avatar: Fire and Ash', while the racing drama 'F1' took home the award for Best Sound.
The Best International Feature Film award went to 'Sentimental Value', marking a historic first for Norwegian cinema at the Oscars.
In the documentary section, 'Mr Nobody Against Putin' was awarded Best Documentary Feature, while 'All the Empty Rooms' won Best Documentary Short Film.
In animation, 'KPop Demon Hunters' took home the Best Animated Feature award and also won Best Original Song for the track 'Golden'. The Best Animated Short Film honour went to 'The Girl Who Cried Pearls'.
The ceremony featured a tie between two live-action short films: 'The Singers' and 'Two People Exchanging Saliva'.
