Brahmanand Saraswati Ashram hosts Shri Sahasra Chandi Mahayagya from March 19
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The Brahmanand Saraswati Ashram, under the guidance of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Sansthan, is set to host a grand Shri Sahasra Chandi Mahayagya starting March 19. This sacred event aligns with the beginning of Chaitra Navratri, a significant nine-day Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Durga, and will conclude on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on March 27. Brahmachari Girish, the head of the Maharishi Sansthan, has formally invited devotees to participate in the spiritual proceedings to seek divine blessings and mental peace.
Chaitra Navratri holds great spiritual significance as it marks the start of the Hindu New Year according to the Luni-Solar calendar. During this sacred nine-day period, devotees pay homage to the nine different forms of Goddess Shakti, each embodying distinct qualities of power, nature, and the victory of good over evil. The festival includes fasting, meditation, and chanting sacred hymns. The Ashram, located at Chan Ward on Bhojpur Road, will hold daily rituals from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The daily schedule includes elaborate Devi Pujan (worship of the goddess), the rhythmic chanting of the Shri Durga Saptashati, and traditional Havan ceremonies, all aimed at purifying both the environment and participants' souls.
The Mahayagya will reach its spiritual crescendo on the final day, March 27, which celebrates the birth of Lord Ram. To mark the conclusion of the festival, a Kanya Bhoj will be organized at 1:00 PM. This tradition involves worshiping and feeding young girls, who are considered earthly personifications of the Goddess herself. This communal gathering not only serves as a profound expression of faith and devotion but also fosters a sense of unity among the residents of Bhopal and surrounding areas, bringing them together for a shared celebration of their rich Vedic heritage.
