Grand celebrations on 150th birth anniversary of Swami Shri Brahmanand Saraswati Ji
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The 150th birth anniversary of Gurudev Swami Shri Brahmanand Saraswati Ji and the Aradhana Mahotsav of Swami Shri Shantanand Saraswati Ji began at Shankaracharya Ashram, Alopibagh, Prayagraj today under the patronage of Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj Ji.
The 10-day festival began with Paduka Pujan and Vyas Gadi Pujan followed by the lighting of the lamp by Vedic Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Brahmachari Girish Ji also performed Guru Puja with Vedic chanting by Vedic Pundits. Swami Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj Ji welcomes all the distinguished guests with shawls, flower bouquets, and mementos. Along with the chief guest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Keshari Nath Tripathi, former Governor of West Bengal, Brahmachari Hari Chaitanya Ji and Katha Vyas, Param Pujya Swami Shri Jitendranath Ji Maharaj, Shrinath Peethadhishwar were also present.
On this occasion, Brahmachari Girish Ji informed that Shri Gurudev Swami Shri Brahmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj was the master of Ved and all its 40 aspects known as Vedic Vangmay. Because of these qualities, the second President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan adored him as 'Vedanta Incarnate'. We all are very enthralled to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Shri Gurudev as ‘Aradhna Mahotsav’ at the holiest place Prayagraj under the leadership of present Shankracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj.
While addressing the gathering, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Ji said that all the great men who awakened the society made spirituality the basis and religion is not possible without it. “You look at saints, mahatmas, sanyasis or great men like Rabindranath Tagore, Gandhiji or Ambedkar working in social life. They also used to say that nothing will happen without religion”.
“Dharma means taking everyone along, driving everyone together, uplifting everyone. Where there is no religion, people believe that the one who is strong will go ahead and the one who is weak will surely die. Religion says that the one who is strong should protect the weak. Religion comes out of spirituality,” Bhagwat said.
RSS chief said, “It is spirituality that purifies our individual life, our family life and our national social life. If people do not get guidance, they go astray. It is the good fortune of our nation that the tradition of great men who guide the people by their conduct has continued unbroken. Brahmalin Swami Shantanand Saraswati was from the same tradition.”
Bhagwat said, “To make life a human life, one has to be spiritual. Looking at material and spiritual life separately is not our attitude because we look at all things from a holistic point of view.”
After that Shrimad Bhagwat Katha was recited by Shri Jitendranath Ji Maharaj, and which will continue till 08 December 2022 from 2 pm.
