Earthquake tremors in Uttarakhand
BAGESHWAR [Maha Media]: Earthquake tremors were felt early morning across Uttarakhand today. The tremor occurred at 7:25 AM and measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. Its depth was recorded at 10 kilometres, with the epicentre located in Bageshwar.
People felt the tremors early in the morning, which woke many from their sleep. Fearing potential aftershocks, residents stepped out of their homes despite the cold. Administrative officials were seen assessing the situation immediately following the earthquake.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Bageshwar. Due to the epicentre being 10 kilometres beneath the surface, tremors were strongly felt. The impact extended up to Rishikesh, 174 kilometres from Bageshwar, and Haridwar, 183 kilometres away.
